However, later that same month, the network unveiled a completely new animated series with a markedly softer feel. Haha, You Clowns proved to be sweet and soothing, in the spirit of a cartoon version of a laid-back talk show. In an era often defined by cynicism, this show's sincerity struck a chord and propelled it a breakout hit.
A Two-Season Greenlight
In mid-December, the network confirmed a big renewal: Haha, You Clowns has been picked up for a further two seasons. This offers showrunner Joe Cappa a massive runway to expand upon the story of the Campbell family. The show centers on three respectful teenage brothers whose central trait is their profound affection for their single father, with Cappa providing the voices for all four key characters.
"I’m so grateful to the fans of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and shared it with others," stated Cappa. "It's thrilling that I get to spend more time in the Campbell household for seasons to come."
A President's Endorsement
In the same announcement commendation from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "profoundly sincere and strangely uncanny." He specifically highlighted the fans who embraced the show and championed its uniquely offbeat sensibility.
"All of you got behind this new show, praised it on social media, and helped it grow week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," commented Ouweleen. "As the show says: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

In earlier interviews, creator Joe Cappa expressed his goal to move the comedy genre beyond its current cynical streak. He attributed this trend to various cultural shifts.
“There's this level of irony that we can't get ourselves out of,” noted Cappa. “It feels as if we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for too long, and we just have to laugh at something different now. It's time for comedy to grow.”
