Salah Issues Apology to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players after the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
