The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
