Two Victims Revealed in the Providence Campus Incident as Law Enforcement Continue Search for Perpetrator.

The pair of scholars who died in the recent violent attack on the university campus were honored at the start of the week – while an intensive search for their shooter carried on following the freeing by authorities in Rhode Island of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which honored her memory at a service on Sunday.

His name was verified by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.

The Shooting Incident

Nine more persons were hurt in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a man aged 24 taken into custody in a search at a hotel about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was set to be freed.
